Before I start I know nothing bout computers, so can anyone help me, I have a pre-historic computer known as a Dell Optiplex GX1, (don't laugh) I am trying to turn it into something useful but can't get very far, it only has 2 PCI slots and I have upgraded it with, a DVD burner, 160 Gig hard drive and 384 mb of SDRAM, it's running XP and it doesn't go to bad but when I bought a graphics card I found that it didn't fit (not happy) so I tried to find out how to upgrade the video memory (bloody SGRAM) and can't find anything bigger than 8mb of SGRAM. So my questions are as follows:
*Can I use a standard PCI slot for a graphics card?
*Is 8mb of SGRAM the most I can get?
*What is a better Mother board that I could get fairly cheap?
*Is there anything else I could do to improve the "Snailbox"?
Any information well help, and thanx for your time.
