Hi, have a desktop PC which has a problem. It boots up but wont display anything on screen. Just says no signal on screen. I thnk its eithger the mobo or the agp graphics which is at fault. Hows way to tell which is without going out buying parts as dont wanna buy something i ent gonna need. Thanks

Do you hear any multiple audio tones like one long and two short beeps when first starting up the system? With the system booting normal without anything seen onscreen you most likely have a bad card if it is not lifted up in the AGP slot. If you are only hearing a single beep you may want to check the vga plug to make sure that is not unplugged or partially pulled out.

Do you know someone with an extra AGP card sitting around? If you suddenly saw a normal screen you would known then that you have a flaky card there not sounding an alarm. If your board lacks a speaker you wouldn't hear even the single default beep heard on most systems. If a loaner card known to be a good card fails to see anything onacreen the AGP slot itself or another problem on the AGP bus would be the cause.
