I want to intall a game - Heroes 3. It requires Directx version 6.1. It's a very old version as far as I know, so generally I should've got it only from installing alot of the games that I have on my computor. And also, I already had a quite new directx on the comp before i installed them. AND I have downloaded a newer version when I noticed that Heroes wanted to kill me. And still, it doesn't work.

Then your OS shouldn't be a problem, the only thing I can think of right now is that you should update your video card drivers, assuming that you have a video card and not onboard video.
