Something is wrong...

Ok, my PC should be getting great FPS, but the problem is im not. In WoW, I average about 50 FPS (WoW is not demanding at all) and I get lower scores in the Lost Coast and HL2 video stress tests then people with 7800GT's... my 3DMark scores are also rather low for my system. Redrider773 has a worse gfx. card than i do and he gets at least 25 FPS better than I do in WoW. Plus I get random freezes and restarts. My temps are all normal, but I have no idea what is wrong (although my video card runs kind of hot IMO, i idle at like 65-70C). Also at startup right after the Windows XP loading bar screen, my screen becomes all distorted for a few seconds, then returns to normal. What could be wrong?!?!?!

My first thought is a power supply problem. That's what usally causes the restarts, and maybe it's not giving your GPU enough juice so it's underclocking? Though, you'd normally get an error/warning of some sort.

This is my PSU:

Im getting this case so if my PSU is crap then i can use the one that comes with the case (its actually not bad):

No, Rosewill actually makes fairly decent PSU's. Your problem doesn't sound like the PSU as it's enough watts and has 35A on the +12V.

EDIT: Your computer is certainly pretty power hungry, although with your PSU you should be good. If it's not the PSU, I honestly don't know what the prob is.

I think it might be caused by heat, since my case is pretty cramped... im getting a new one just to be sure.

An overheated video card can also cause a problem. HL2 and Lost Coast with the Source engine us a rather different item there. You would see locks but not restarts with those or Counter Strike. That's when cpu temps climb though.

EDIT: A friend's new build with an NZXT case seen at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811146013 has been running smooth with an Antec TP 480w with the 120cm fans mounted in there. But one way to see if heat is a problem is often the use of a small household fan pointed at the case with a side cover off.
