okay so I just recently changed my OS from vista back to XP professional... and I don't know why but now the games I play get waaaaaaaay crappier frame rates than it did when I had vista. I'm using a EVGA 6800 GTS graphics card and I could before my os change play pretty much everything on high with 30+ frame rates but after switching OS it took a dive, anyone know what might be the problem? could it be something with my processor?

After making the change back to xp, did you install the vista drivers or the xp drivers?

There is a difference. Make sure that you did install the xp drivers

You need to install the drivers for your graphics card. Go to EVGA's website and find the driver for XP, that should help out tons.

shit I just did that and it said that it did not pass the windows logo testing, the box said its compatible with vista. does it mean it only works well on vista???

You need to install the drivers for XP, not the ones for Vista! You probably installed the ones you had for vista. And those will not work with xp. You need to download the correct drivers and install them.

Just a tip though, you need to uninstall the drivers you have installed right now. Otherwise they will conflict with the new drivers.

Lucky its not on board I have dealt with about 9 customers wanting to downgrade from vista. All of them who use pretty basic computers and if downgraded most of there board chip set drivers were vista only. Dell and Toshiba are being pains about that...However Vista is the future...
