something weird happ. w/ a Firewall, need help.

Well 2day my comp decided 1 of it's firewalls just wont let a P2P prog. i use, gain acess. Now i cant find which firewall is blocking the prog. I've turned all of them off n tried it again but its still being blocked. Then my ZoneLabs keeps saying its blocking it but it never did this before. So then i shut ZoneLabs down and it still dont help. Any Suggestions?
 
you have alarm zone? that one gives trouble too or it could just be your Internet provider, there's plenty of them that block p2p programs.
 
uninstall both of your firewalls, two of them running together isn't going to help you. then install the one you prefer and start over.
 
well, i tried and uninstalled zonelabs and it still is being blocked...so i uninstalled limwire and re installed it but nothing good. i shut down all of my anti spyware progs. anti virus progs (which i know wasnt a good idea) but just for then to just see if it would connect, but it still didnt....Any more ideas?
 
You're not trying to access the internet through a router are you? The built in firewall in these can block P2P programs.
 
have you turned off the "Windows Firewall"?
Also as ceewi1 mentioned... have you changed any settings on your router?... try adding your ip to DMZ just to check.
 
Yea my windows firewall is off, this all just happened out of the blue. My prog was working fine the other day now this happened. how would i add my ip address to DMZ?
 
Well if you are using a Router, you need to go into it's setup, and add the IP address of your PC under the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), this as far as i know will allow all comunications throught to your PC from the outside world(internet).....obviously not the safest thing to have it set to, but can help you quickly check if its just some problem with your Router stopping certant programs.
 
Oh and im not using a router, i forgot to mention that. im loosing hope, the only thing i can think of is maybe theres a invisible firewall that i can't see that's turned on (if thats even possible), but then again every other prog works with no problem.
 
I tried to dl Ares just to see if maybe it was only Limewire, but for some reason Ares just continues to say COnnecting...

And now limewire just says "theres no connection to the internet", but if that were true, i wouldnt be online right now.
