somethings eating at my RAM!!!

everytime i startup my laptop...
everything goes well UNTIL i try to start a program...
when i double click it it just freezes up... i have NO idea why...

ive tried starting it up in safe mode and scanning if from there ... but everything i have dont seems to fail without any sign of improvement

someone PLZ help... i really need this computer working ... and fast!!!
 
google for a program called RAMpage, it will show you if the slowness problem is actually RAM related, it could be that you have a cpu crunching app at startup, also go into task manager and have a look at whats using cpu and you can also see what programs using the ram:)
 
ram can actually develop or have bad sectors on it that wont read correctly, as someone mentioned above there are several memory testing programs that would be ideal
