Someway to run 2 network connections?

On desktop motherboards, as most of you know, there is one ethernet port. On server mobos, there are two ports. Is there someway that to run two internet connections at the same time, think about it as SLI. I have probably lost you in my idiotic:rolleyes: thoughts, my download speed from Microsoft is 275Kb/sec. In my opinion, that sucks, is there someway to maximize this. Do you see what I am saying? I hope so.

Thanks for any replies:D

most motherboards all have 2 ports now

it's really so you can have one hooked up to the internet, and use for for setting up a LAN in the room where your computer is, tho.

To do what you're talking about would require two modems, and you'd have to buy service for both as well.

Its called teaming the network connections
Its on my DFI NF590
Bassicaly plug two ethernet cords into mobo
Install drivers for the MB.There will be most likley a network driver to install
Then under the manger its as simple as enabling "teaming" and you can also do a few other things such as priority packets and such.

Once teamed it doubles the conncetion for example.
2 100Mbps teamed into a single 22Mbps

Its rather usefull IMO

EDIT : also if your running it directly from your modem into your pc you can simply buy a Hub or something of that sort router etc.
Then run 2 into it from there

You can get motherboards with two LAN ports, or buy another NIC, but you cant combine different ISP's together to give you one fast connection.

I want one superfast connection, it's not my PC, I have Verizon DSL. How do I tell how fast it is running? I hate slow internet

I think what you are trying to do is fruitless... plugging to cords in from the same connection is useless. Like heyman said, you have to be paying for two services, so unless you want to pay twice as much, it's a no go.

What is the fastest connection? Not T1, that is commercial. I noticed they are installing Fiber-optics in my area, should I jump for that if it becomes residential.

A T1 would cost like 200$+ a month i don't think you are so desperate to pay that much, i'm using roadrunner the speed is ok for what you pay which is 44$ plus tax the first six months is like 30$, you get around 1mb downloads (using download accelerators) and 90 upload
