i just got this video camera from my father-in-law. It didn't have any driver cds or anything with it but there is some video on it as i've watched it in playback on the LCD. My question is when i hook it up to my pc through USB nothing happens i've tried to download the software through the sony website but it sends me to a picture package website which i tried already and it requires the software to already be installed. so what do i do? any ideas? i would like to be able to transfer the files to my pc...thanks in advance
 
Are you sure that the video is supposed to be transefered through USB? It might well be a firewire camera. Check and see if there's a port on the side.
 
Check the box that the camera came in, see if it says that it was supposed to have a drivers CD included. If it supposed to have USB streaming there's got to be some driver available somewhere...
