Sony Vaio Laptop Memory

Anyone know where its located in a vaio I have recently been given a laptop by a family member that is like 2 years old and only has 512 ram and i want to upgrade it to at least 1 gig maybe 2 if it can handle it. But i have opened it up and cannot seem to find memory or what kind it runs so i can get the correct kind any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

There should be a panel that you can take off, it's usually near the middle but any panel that's removable will be obvious so just pop them all off and look for the RAM.

As for what kind it uses, you could use CPUz or similar program to see what RAM is in it now and match that.
