sony viao laptop questions

greetings,

i have a sony viao laptop model pcg-frv26, 2.8 ghz, 40gb-hd, win xp home, 512 ram. the battery, i am told is 2 years old.

with the a/c adapter plugged in, should this computer run "indefinitely" and not shut down?

also, do the battery in laptops, with the ac adapter plugged in, get hot?

is this model noted for very low sound from the internal speakers? i have noticed that the sound emanating from the internal speakers is quite low, even after going into control panel and setting everything to max (sound sliders).

last, with a fully charged battery, how long should the computer run? granted, that will depend on the applications running.

....thanks for the help!

That's the idea

I could see this more if they were weak and charged up. However, once the battery is charged, it really shouldn't get that warm. I know mine never gets as warm(even while being charged) as the rest of the "hot spots"

Pretty typical for any laptop...

I can't tell you specifically... You can get software that will estimate it. I use RightMark CPU Clock Utility to for it's battery meter(among other things)

i am looking at a replacement 100gb Toshiba MK-1032GSX SATA 5400for the aforementioned laptop..(sony viao laptop model pcg-frv26, 2.8 ghz, 40gb-hd...)

.......will this work?.....thanks again...
