Im having a big upcomming party and im going to get some good $$. Ive always wanted an alienware system. And soon im going to the university which i will be needing a laptop. Im going to buy the m17x because i love to play games in the highest resolution possible(Global Agenda, firefall, and a lot of standards mmo. And also the small details like the led color of the keyboard and the design of the vents in the back of the laptop, everything makes it so amazing. So i want to be sure im not making a mistake and wasting my money?

Ive searched a lot, and this laptop has it all. Design, an amazing i7 processor, cool features, amazing graphic card.
I have a pc, for standard stuff in my house, but i want a laptop, so i can move with it, take it where ever i go.

Alienware is alright, but other companies like Sager and Cyberpower offer laptops far far better- better cpu, graphic cards, better optical, basically way more options. Not to mention they look better and more professional, those retarded LED's everywhere would drive me nuts.

well, i dont understand why people say alienware is not that good. Its suppose to be top 1 gaming brand.
I have 2,200$.

Im thinking of a laptop instead of a desktop because im going to the university now and ill be moving around a little bit. If i know i can get the fastest laptop in the universe with these money( which i will be capable of running every game out right now in the highest resoltuion) i dont see why not buy one.

Im looking for a great design laptop, with great specs. Any recommendation?

Alienware is okay, they use decent CPU's and GPU's, but they are run in lowend and cheap motherboards, with poor quality ram and such. and they're dell :P

The 17 inch laptop does get in the way at school. The 15X would do you better as a school computer, IMO, but as has been said, they use cheap parts. Just like the HP I have (great processor, ram, GPU, internet, but a cheap mobo.).
I have never had a gaming type asus or Toshiba, but their mid range L305D was excellent when I had one. Used it every day.

I have also heard that Lenovo's T400 and T500 laptops can handle some high end gaming, and has a respectable mobo that will last practically forever.
