Sorry RAM again

Sorry folks you must have heard this a thousand times, but I have a Asus
K8VX board with 2 x Kingston KVR400x64c3ak2 512mb RAM equalling 1Gb. I have a Athlon 3000+ 64bit chip. The motherboard has 2 black slots and 1 blue. What is the cheapest way to get more ram in??? Can I use the blue slot??? do I have to match??? I need more ram for photo work. Please help.
 
Your board is S754 right? You can just stick any DDR RAM into the blue slot if that's the case as you wont loose dual channel because it doesn't have it.
 
Filling up all the DiMM slots will add a lot of drag on the A64's memory controller. The sweet spot is 2x1GB in the first two banks, never use the last slot..
