Sound Card Advice

Hello

I'm looking at sound cards as need to disable onboard sound due to an a problem with the headphone socket.

I don't have any PCI slots left, so does anyone know if USB sound cards are just as good?

Got my eye on something like this:

There's nothing about USB sound cards that would make it difficult to switch off onboard sound is there?

What do you have in your computer that is taking up all of your PCI slots? And no, you can switch off onboard sound in the BIOS and then use whatever you add just as you would any other peripheral device. I would still say PCI cards are better than USB, though.
