Hi,

I recently bought a new headset, and I don't sure if my Motherboard Audio is appropriate with it or not, So I want to buy a new sound card and this is the link for sound card(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102062&cm_re=Creative_Sound_Blaster_Audigy_FX_PCIe_5.1_Sound_Card_with-_-29-102-062-_-Product

And my motherboard audio information is

VIA VT1708 codec
High Definition Audio
2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
* To configure 7.1-channel audio, you have to use an HD front panel audio module and enable the multi-channel audio feature through the audio driver.

What headset are you using? Honestly onboard sound anymore is pretty decent, and unless you've got some pretty high end gear you won't notice much of a difference, if at all, with a sound card. Especially a cheaper one like that.

Also, the "views" counter is kind of irrelevent. A lot of those can be people that are looking for help with a similar issue and find this thread via a google search.

Which headset did you buy?

As stated, it's a subjective experience. If your headset was cheap it won't make a huge difference between the two.

The headset is good, but i doubt you would get any sound difference with that card. a good sound card is quite expensive. I have a beyerdynamic dt 770 and it sounds perfectly good with the onboard audio.

Ok, lets compare the two.

The VIA and Creative both have 24 bit 192k sound sampling so they're the same in that regard. The creative has a much better SNR of 106db vs the VIA 95 - 100db SNR. Remember, decibels are a log scale so that is about 50,000 times better, literally.

The Creative card also has a 600ohm can driver which is a big plus in my books.

Worth $28 in my opinion.

You know when I use the mic the voice recorder so low, for that I think the sound card maybe better solution.
