Sound comming out slow

for some reason i will be listening to my music sometimes and the music will sound slow. and its not just my mp3's cause i stream off of shoutcast and even the sound on there sounds slow and it has to reset the connection becuase it has to catch up to where the music should be. it doesnt happen all the time but its happening enough to annoy the crap outta me :-p

any help would be appreciated ^_^
 
are you saying it happens to all of your music or just streamed music, cause that could be to do with your bandwidth.

but have you tried updating your sound card drivers? and what media player are you using/have you tried a different one?
 
I had a problem like this in xp when i was using onboard, cause my onboard is the "realtek hi-def' and i installed the drivers for a different realtek card.
 
its onboard, but i dont know what kind it is exactly. my drivers say its C-Media AC 97. how would i know if i had the right driver installed?

and its happening to my music on the computer and music im streaming
 
yeah, i really need to figure out the problem. the music im listening to now is in slow motion, and it doesnt matter what audio player i use either :-\
 
yeah but the drivers i see have a 4 digit number after them so it seems that there are different C-Media AC 97 drivers i can chose from.
