sound driver, please help

ok so i have a compaq presario 1200 (12XL410 to be exact) and the sound doesn't work. i tried reinstalling the drivers but that didn't help. can someone tell me if i can replace the sound card or is is built into the mother board??

it is most likely integrated sound.
the best thing to do is go to the hp support site and find the specific drivers for it or maybe there are some updates for your sound card.

another thing that might help is going into sounds and audio devices and going into audio and selecting the right device for it. i know that helped me when i had to reinstall my sound drivers for my laptop
