Sound Error Diagnostics

Hey guys
I have a question involving my sound card,

Here is what happend:
I was adjusting the volume and my computer and I felt a slight shock..
then all of the sudden I have no sound I checked and my sound card is working properly and its not the speakers, and I tried the onboard sound and thats not working either...is there a way to figure out why this isint working or to Diagnose this problem?

Try plugging another set of speakers into the both the onboard sound and sound card ports, and see if you get the same results. Note that you may need to enable the onboard sound in Windows before it will work.
