Sound Error

I am getting a high pitched sound coming from my audio output and my mic is not working.

I am running an asrock 970 extreme3 motherboard and i am missing two grounded motherboard mounting screws. one is close to the i/o board.

Please help me!

try re-installing the drivers. if that doesnt work, make sure that all the connections are in the right place and plugged in all the way. If none of those options work then i dont know what to do.

the missing grounded screws might have something to do with it, you may want to replace those.

i will, my case came with 5 mobo screws and my mobo needed 7(8th was not grounded and didnt fit with my case)

I remember something like this happened to me with one of my custom built machines and the sound card needed to be grounded and i thought "Oh, just screw it nothing will happen. and i got this high pitched squeal when i started it up for the first time so i went back and grounded it and that helped everything.
