Sound issues..

Ok, so for many months I've had sound issues, such as distorted sound.. I've done the following:

Update sound drivers

Update chipset drivers

It seems when there's bass involved things sound really distorted the most, but other times the sound just isn't very clear..

Any ideas? :(
 
Is it a sound card or onboard?

if onboard, I would try a cheap soundcard to overcome the problem.

or.....

if soundcard, then try another one because it seems you've tried everything else that it could possibly be.

Currently it's on board, but a few months ago I picked up a cheap sound blaster card and I still had distortion... I'm worried there's some major issue that I'm over looking.. :(
 
Well... it's a process of elimination really bud, :-

  • you've updated drivers etc
  • you've tried different speakers/headphones
  • you've tried different hardware(soundcard etc)
and you're still getting the error so.....
What's left?

How about

What media player are you using and do you have stable codecs?
Assuming you're using M$, try using WMP with the Klite codec pack installed.

Also, not being funny but.... is it just YOU that notices this problem or can your friends distinguish it too? Maybe your hearing range is far superiour to most !! some people really can have very fine hearing detail ;)

It happens in video games the most, but yes my friends can hear it too..
