Sound output not working on my Asus A7SV

I have no problem getting sound when the jack-port is unplugged, but there is no sound when I plug in my sound system! Sound system works perfectly with any other devices I plug into it.

I am running a fresh, new installation of Windows7.

Any ideas what my problem might be?

what ratio is your sound system 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 etc

Look at your sound devices I bet you have the external system turned off.
