Sound problem

I just took apart my laptop to clean the dust out, and now the sound is not working. It seems like when the headphones are in you can hear some sound but it is very very low.
Any suggestions on what caused this and how to fix?
 
Does it fit loose,like you can move the jack around a bit?Have you changed the sound driver lately?

Nothing seems loose. All sound was working before i opened the computer. And I still have the sound card that came with the laptop when i bought it, which was 2 years ago.
 
So I just checked, the sound works on tv through the hdmi cable, but it does not work on the laptop speakers, and I can hear a small amount of noise but not enough to make out what is being said through headphones.

So because it is working through the hdmi cable would that mean that the sound card is not the issue?
 
Doesn't seem like the sound card to me.You may have accidently worked a cable/wire loose when you put it back together.Hopefully it didn't get pinched,I done it before.
Still though I think the headphone jack should be working fine cause that is soldered in place normaly.
