sound problems

I have a thinkpad t22. When I am listning to music evey one and a while a weird sound happens. It makes a grrrrrr like sound and lasts about 1 or 2 seconds. In my audio recording program when this sound happens the trackbar (thing that moves as your aduio plays) slows down and then it speeds up as soon as its back to normal. This happens on the internal laptop speakers and on external speakers. It has also happened when XP was shutting down.

Is this problem with the laptop or windows XP?

XP, 256mb, 900MHZ

I would say its a problem with os because it happen to both the internal and external. How you would fix it I have no clue.

okay does this sound happen when you are switching between programs via alt-tab?

Reloaded sound drivers, got new version of direct X and it still does it, but not half as much as before. The problem seems to be getting better but it is still there. There are about 5 things using IRQ 11. Is this a problem?

new drivers, 5 things running IRQ 11. I have another problem though...

when the computer comes back from standby it gets a blue screen, says physical memory dump and then reboots.

Any ideas?

is this a result of reinstalling the drivers, or did you always get it?

Uninstalled then reinstalled sound drivers. Now everything works. Thanks
