Hi Everyone
I have been trying to solve this situation for many months and after trying many different fixes found over the internet, I need help!
The problem.
Whenever I have music/movies playing in vlc/itunes and I scroll/hover over links in webpages/open windows explorer, my sound will start stuttering and my cpu suddenly jumps up to around 80%
If I have iTunes not maximised, so it just takes up 1/4 of the screen it doesn't really stutter anywhere near as much. Also, if I reduce the resolution of the pc the stuttering/cpu usage is reduced.
Things I have tried:
Installing/updating -sound drivers
-video card drivers
-bios
Formatting Hard drive and reinstalling windows
Cleaning inside of pc
Starting in Safe Mode
One thing that helped was I noticed the temp of my cpu was about 90 degrees which I googled and said it was too high, so I opened the pc and cleaned/reapplied thermal paste to cpu/heatsink and the temp now sits at around 40 degrees. This helped for about a day then suddenly the stuttering/cpu spikes came back. The temp hasn't changed.
Also, when I press ctrl/alt/delete and bring up task manager as soon as it opens I see the cpu at about 80% before jumping down quickly to 1%
So basically I think the issue is my cpu is spiking far to easily. The pc is about 3 or 4 years old
I am willing to try absolutely anything to figure out what the problem is!
Thank you to everyone who is taking the time to read this and sorry if I've missed out any crucial details this is my first time needing help with a pc!
My specs
MSI MS-7528
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
