Sound volume increase when sliders in media players moved

Hi there,

When I navigate to different parts of sound files using the slider in Windows Media Player or RealPlayer, there is a significant increase in the sound volume. Why is this?
I have Windows XP and a Creative Soundblaster Audigy Card.

does this occur for all files or just a specific one?

All sound files including different formats.

ok, well then that tells me it's not the actual files that are the problem, it must either be something to do with your sound card or the media play programs. You might try getting the newest drivers for the card from the manufacturer website. Or if you just updated the drivers try rolling back to the pervious version.
