CD/DVD R-RW internal drive for Dell Inspiron 5000

Is there a recommended source for a CD/DVD R-RW internal drive, compatible for a DELL Inspiron 5000 laptop, model PPM?

Dell's recommendation is a third-party external USB/Parallel drive, but we would like to go with internal drive or floppy exchange drive, if possible.

Not really, the end user will/should be more concerned about the make/model of the drive rather than what subcompany markets it or whatnot. (i could be misinterpreting the question)
