this may be a straightforward question to some... however i was wondering if it is possible to install the distributed version of SP3 straight onto SP1 while skipping the install of SP2.

i would give you the link to windows update file of SP3 but i am using Mozzila Firefox and it dosnt work.

anyway just need to be sure B4 doing it

Yes you can but only if you have update SP1a and not SP1.

Its always best to do a clean install of a service pack, especially SP3. You would have slipstream SP3 into a new XP install cd using a program called Autostreamer, which is free and can download it here...

You will need your existing XP install CD and a cdburner in your system, along with software that can burn ISO's to disk.

I only use nlite if i slipstream drivers. Autostreamer is so much easier to use for beginners so to speak.
