the billion dollar question folks.what is the best anti-spam software out, becuse i have a pain in the neck with spam.i dont care how much it cost's
McAfeeSpamKiller is not cutting the mustard for me.
so please please help before i go crazy.

The best spam filter I've ever come across are simple filters. Have one setup where no messages will be accepted UNLESS there's "ToJohnee:" in the subject. Maybe have all other messages diverted to a spam folder. Most email clients offer filters.

Don't feel alone there. Lately I feel like I going through some type of "eternal ssspammmationnnnn"   !!! I have the ISP's spam filter set to auto delete just about anything. Yet open up Outlook Express and see.... &#%!

The "Rules" are the usual thing to set up. Often you can set it up where only those coming from contacts in your address book are allowed in. That Spambayes was a load of ... for trying that out on a stand alone not server type station. You had to configure the IP address exactly in order to even try to get it running there.

And just what system can you get it to work on? Are you sure you didn't misspell "spambakes" there? That's one mainly intended for servers since the Windows versions are for Outlook 2000 and 2002 with the main OSs without a plugin being XP Pro and Windows Server 2003. Email "rules" work far better. :D

It was already tried here and removed fast for the hassle of trying to configure it. That's not something to recommend for any newbies out there. It is geared more towards helping out businesses with networks to weed out the volumes of spam they see on a regular basis not the average stand alone desktop for the home user.

It has a auto configure mode so even a simpleton can configure it in 30 seconds and get it running. It is really nice. I highly recommend it.

as the old saying goes "prevention is better than cure" spams comes from you accesing some illegal sites and giving your email add.

If you click on any of the links seen on ads that come in that only goes to verify that your email address is a valid account. One tip to prevent that is to check the inbox online if you are using Outlook Express and delete them there. This prevents them from being downloaded to Outlook. If the mail provider has the block sender option or even block domain option available take full use of it. After a period of time the amount of spam will drop off.
