Spamware; how do I fix it.

Some spamware has made it through my antivirus software's defense systems and is starting to bombard me with pop-up ads out the ass. I need to know, specifically, what the spamware is, so I know what to look for and delete.

Strangely enough, these aren't actual ads, per se. They're just regular websites that I can otherwise go to, anyway; these pop-ups just take me to those websites without my consent.

These pop-ups come in the Internet Explorer browser, whereas I usually do my browsing on Firefox.

Also, the pop-ups only come up when I'm browsing the web. If my browser is closed, I don't get them. Heck, I can even be connected to the Internet using some other kind of software (such as uploading videos to youtube directly from my webcam-catching software), and it still doesn't give me these pop-ups.

It's really annoying when I try to type something, like I'm doing right now, and a pop-up comes up, disrupting my typing, and that's just one of many annoying things that's wrong with this crap.

Can someone help me? Do you recognize this spamware? If you do, do you know how to get rid of it?
 
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If for some reason Malwarebytes will not install or run please download and run Rkill.scr, Rkill.exe, or Rkill.com but DO NOT reboot the system and then try installing or running Malwarebytes. If Rkill (which is a black box) appears and then disappears right away or you get a message saying rkill is infected, keep trying to run rkill until it over powers the infection and temporarily kills it. Once a log appears on the screen, you can try running malwarebytes or downloading other programs.



Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log
 
Dude.... Having Avast doesn't mean anything..... An antivirus program will not catch the malware that is out today. I suggest you download and run the programs i listed and post the logs.
 
Follow John's Advice! the programs are free and if you follow what he asks you to do if you do this your computer will be spyware free when its done and like new again!

Malwarebytes has a free and a pay version of the software. When you download it all you get is the free version. If you decide that you would like to buy it and get the active scanning enabled then you can register and buy it.

I told you before that process will not work to get your system fully clean. I need you to stop suggesting to users to do that.
 
Do you have any spyware certification or training? I'm still learning from a school online but you NEVER tell someone to delete .dll files without knowing what you are doing if they delete the wrong one they could kill their operating system i suggest we let John do his thing and help this user the right way.
 
Back on topic. Ok, bstebbins, as soon as you post the logs from those programs we can assist you in getting your computer running right again.

As johnb35 said, the programs he linked to are free. They are also released by reputable developers, so no worries about cost or trustworthiness.
