Speakers aren't working after windows 7 fresh install

So here's the story. I had windows xp 64 bit, and I got new speakers for christmas, the logitech X-540s. I had something called SoundMAX on my Windows XP 64, and it would detect whenever I plugged in my headphones/speakers. So the day I got my speakers, I plugged it all in, everything worked fine right out of the box. Just today I got Windows 7, I had to choose custom installation because I wasn't upgrading from windows vista so everything worked out fine, windows 7s great etc etc, but now. My computer won't recognize my speakers as even being PLUGGED in, I go to Control Panel > Sound > Says my high definition speakers aren't plugged in, even though the sub is plugged in to the wall, all the correct cords are in the correct spots, and I've got the others plugged in to the back of my computer, I don't know what's going on but I kind of want to get some use out of my speakers... any solutions ?

Digital Audio S/PDIF
Digital Audio HDMI are both being read yet, speakers aren't even considered plugged in.

I suppose integrated, there's no driver downloads on the site and I don't know where else to look for sound drivers. I don't have a seperate sound card and didn't buy one when making the computer.

I have a P5Q series motherboard, and I have a DVD hero "Chipset Support DVD" What's it for ? Is this the driver disc?

Also, I can load anything that was installed on my old computer on my new operating system, is there anything I can just drag and drop from my old program files to my new program files to get this sorted out ?

Just tried to load the support DVD and it said that this support DVD does not support this operating system.

Okay, disregard that last post, I installed the drivers off the website, the speakers are being detected, the drivers are enabled all that good shit, but there's still no audio playback. The speakers AREN'T muted, They ARE configured correctly, They ARE recognized in control panel and it SAYS that they're playing music, but I can't hear anything.

Still nothing ? I haven't been able to find anything on it, gonna try to screw around with installing the drivers.

I had that problem too with my P5Q-E Motherboard, after messing around, I bought a cheap Creative Audigy SE card which produces better sounds than the onboard, but after re-installing, Windows Update did an update for it, and even the onboard works fine.

$29 from Walmart, seen Newegg sell them for $29 also. In the UK its £39.99 at PC World (what a scam lol)

Check your players output, it could be that it's using a different sound option as your output instead of the card your speakers are plugged into.
