As some of you may know, i'm trying to upgrade my computer so that World of Warcraft is playable on it.
I have so far figured that everything I need to upgrade is the following:
- I have 256MB RAM and need 512 - 1 gig. 512MB Would be £34, so would it be possible to buy 2 of those and put them both inside my computer instead of buying 1Gig?
- I need 6Gig Hard Disk space, and although i've already got half of that, I managed to find 80Gig for sale on the internet for £30, so I may just take that.
Now... That would cost me £98 if I bought 2 blocks of RAM (If it's possible, that is.) And if I just bought 1 block then it would be £64.
Another question:
- I currently have an AMD Duron(tm) Processor. I looked it up on the internet to find out it's processor speed, and it said it was 795MHZ, but recently when I ran dxdiag, I found it said it was running at a speed of 1.1GHZ. Does this mean I don't need to buy a processor after all? Seeing as the spec's for WoW is 800MHZ?
- And I THINK the reason I was going to get a new motherboard was BECAUSE I was buying a new processor, so if I don't get a new processor does it mean I could go without buying the motherboard too? With WoW still working? I was going to buy an A8N-SLI, but if I don't have to then I won't.
Thanks
