Why do members put their computer specs in their signature? Is it like showing off your hot rod? I don't think my piece of junk could compete.

Didn't think of that. Good point.
There are also many people here who put their computers in their sig even though they dont have a good one. its kinda like telling us in advance, so if that person asks a question then we can look at his sig to see what he has.

You'll find similar things on all forums.

Here's a noob question you can add to the list. :) Where do I go on my computer to find this info? Is it under my computer, control panel and then where?

not such a noob question, just download Cpu-Z, google it. i forget the adress. itll tell u some specs about your comp. and is useful when we need to know the critical info

you can also right click on your "my computer" icon to see your system specs.
for more detailed info you can download PCwizard. b/c CPU-Z is just your CPU and RAM.

Heya

One more great thing is that users can consult others with the same hardware in case they are having problems. I for example have had many people contact me about the overclockability of the Venice 3000+.

JAN :D

And it gives us all an opportunity to drool over the "financially fortunate" peoples rigs. Im currently drooling over your Diamondback :D

And when you build your own computer themn you usualy end up memorizing it, its kinda weird :P
yes it is :P

I only wish i new as much about cars as i do about computers, then i wouldnt need to bring it to an auto dealer and pay $$$$ to fix it :(.

why di we put it there.... well.... some people do it to show off, some people just feel proud of it cos they built it, and then there is the prctical side, a lot of problems occur on this forum and you need to know specs instantly, with this in the sig its sorted...
