speed fan

for some reason the speed fan is not detecting my fan speed correctly.

I Just finished building one of my pc and when installed speed fan, its giving me readings like 168000000 for fan speed and none of the fan speed control will work.

any idea why?

Try some other software... Speedfan has pretty much remained un-updated for the past few years now. I don't know of any motherboards right off it can actually control the fans anymore.

I'd recommend something like PC Wizard. It doesn't have fan control, but it's a great tool for checking the speeds of fans.
