Hi everyone on computer forum.

i have a problem. as usual.

i have a wireless network (thanx 2 ma dad)

but the trouble i am having is if i download a program, an examplae is graw 2 patch,

i downloads at 120kps very fast for a wireless g belkin network. but it cuts off at 2%. so heres my question?

but i want to limit it to 50kps is there a way of limiting the amount of download bandwidth in XP, or is there a freeware program that will limit my internet connection speed????

Does it always stop at 2%? Where are you downloading, in-game? If you're downloading from a site try another. It could also be a firewall problem, try turning it off while the download is underway.

I don't think that limiting your bandwidth will fix the problem, regardless I know of no such program, though they probably exist?
 
no its not always at 2% some times it will get to 5% and then cut off, i tried downloading from two different game sites, ubisoft and file front, but sill the same thing, oh but i managed to get to 6% on filefront. i have no firewall or at least i dont i do. i havn't got windows firewall activated but i might have one one my dads router

could this be why it cuts off.
 
Are you using a Belkin Wireless card (because Belkin is crappy)? I had a problem once where for no reason my internet connection would drop and connect back again really fast. This caused my downloads to get messed up just like yours....and Id try to DL them again, and it would do it again....always at different times. What brand of Wireless card do you have?
