speedfan help

I'm trying to use speedfan to make my computer quieter. I want to make the heatsink fan quieter so I made Speed01 50%, but nothing happened. So I made Speed02 and Speed03 50% still nothing. I made sure none of the fans where set to automatic in the Customize place. So how can I control my fans? Am I doing something wrong?

Sometimes speedfan is just not compatable with motherboards. I know I can see the fans on mine, but nothing happens when I try and control them. Have you looked for software that came with your motherboard?

I downloaded a program, but it still won't let me control me fan speeds! is my mobo retarded or something?!

i know my cousin couldn't either....don't know why though.
