Hi

I want speedfan to run on startup instead of me having to manually open it myself each time, can someone give me instructions on how to do it, i tried putting it in the startup menu folder, i musta done it wrong cause it sure dont load up on startup, do i need to go into regisrty to do it? :S, thanks

easiest to do it in the registry i think, get into regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then to MICROSOFT, then WINDOWS, then CURRENTVERSION, then RUN. Add an entry into that key and point it to the speedfan .exe file (in the installation directory for speedfan).

That should do it i think.

lol hmmm i was kinda hopin i didnt have to go in registry, ill have a look though and see if it looks easy :s , cheers

After i go into h key local machine there is no microfost in there to choose, so how do i get into startup programmes?

sorry lisa, my fault, start by going to HKEY LOCAL MACHINE then go to SOFTWARE, then follow the steps from MICROSOFT onwards. Sorry, my fault.

Ok i found out i need to get to hklm/sotware....... so what do i type in the run box to get to that, if i type regedit i dont get that option im sure theres another simular command to type. cheers

ok i did what u said and theres just a list of applications in there, there is no run option, speedfan is in the list but i have no clue still on what to do. helpppppppp lol

sorry think ive got it now, u were right, i didnt look properly, where did u get them glasses from in ur avator i think i need them :P

lol vision express, same place that does the 2 for 1 deal huh, spare pair for me then ;) , and yeh its workin now, first time i ever attempted to change the registry, thanks :D

yah, the registry can be the dying point of your PC if you fiddle too mcuh, but if you know what your doing then you can tweak excessiveley and have it running so effiecently.... now im getting into a different topic alltogether, ill stop. glad its working.
