Speedfan Question

Hey guys, just wondering if the temperature that Speedfan displays in the toolbar on the bottom right is the CPU temp. Also, what is the difference between CPU and core temps?? The core temps seem to be hotter.

Core is the actual "core" temperature of the Chip. Whereas the CPU temp i think is just the temp on the outside of the processor.

Hey guys, just wondering if the temperature that Speedfan displays in the toolbar on the bottom right is the CPU temp.

It can be changed to display whatever Temp you want it to. Click on 'Configure', then click on the Temp you want displayed. Near the lower right corner, click the box that says 'Show in Tray', and you're good-to-go.

SpeedFan is funny when it comes to detecting correct sensors sometimes. If you're uncertain which temp is your CPU, open a few large programs (AV, Email, Adobe, etc.) at once - the temp that spikes the quickest is the CPU temp.

Also, not certain if you knew this, but you can change the names of the Temps by entering the Configure area and selecting the temp you want to edit and pressing F2.

Edit: I think my Chipset temp was the default one shown. Whatever it was, it wasn't the CPU.
