Spinning-rust RAID arrays? Check this cache tool out.

Those of you running large spinning rust arrays (like me), have a look at PrimoCache. It allows for allocation of system RAM as additional L1 cache and (probably more interesting) - it provides the ability to ascribe any SSD partition you choose to a shared L2 cache. For example, if you had a few 3TB disks in a RAID1 and an SSD that isn't full; you could shrink your Windows partition and then allocate the additional space to L2 cache for ALL disks you decide.

It's a massive read write improvement using a simple waterfall cache approach - that is, oft-used files stay on the cache, others fall back to the next slowest option, providing massive disk throughput improvements including delayed write. I have no interest in teh software beyond it being pretty cool. Download here. 30 day free trial, pretty cheap.
