splicing a case fan

i want to add an extra case fan to my system. since it is extra, i dont have any spots to plug it in, so i want to get a power suply that you would plug into the wall, similar to the one you might plug into your router, or charge an old cell phone with. yes, i know it has to be a 12v regulated supply cable. my question is this, the power supply has 2 wires, positive and negative obviously. the fan i want has four wires, positive, negative, sensor, and control. can i just solder the positive and negative wires together respectively and it will run at full speed, or will not plugging the two other wires keep the fan from spinning?

Just use the + and - leaving the other two to air, it will run at full speed. Be careful of the cable colouring, black is negative but sometimes yelow or red is used as positive.

I don't know whether a 4pinned fan would work well in this case. They are PWM fans designed to run off pulses of power as to control their speed.
