splinter cell double agent

No. Get, if you are looking only at ATi, at least an X850 or an X1800. If you are looking at Nvidia also, then at least a 7600 or higher.

Yes this is a good card, and you able to play latest games on med/high setting.

You will not see any difference between 512MB and 256MB version of 7600GS, so it is better to get 256MB 7600GS

If you can stretch your budget a little bet, then get 7600GT, it is better than 7600GS

The 7900GS should be well within that range. But shop around and see what cards/prices you can find because I don't know any of the better places to shop in the UK.

Just don't expect to much with that GPU, Double Agent is a very demanding game.

oh sorry you right it is very demanding game

I just have looked at wikipedia and gamespot, and it says that it need at least Pentium4 3 Ghz or Athlon 3000+, 1 GB and 128MB video card.
The video card must support Shader Model 3.0
and these are the supported video cards
ATI X1600/X1800/X1900
NVidia 6600 /6800/7300/7600/7800/7900

Thats ^^ just the minimum sytstem requirements, and this game will not work with shader model 2.0 cards like X850xt

You will be able to play DX10 games with DX9.0 cards. It will just run on DX9.0 mode.

You will need Windows vista and DX10 card in order to run DX10 games in DX10 mode.
