spots on screen

trying too figure out how to undo something i must have done. screen was ok, but now has 1/8inch verticle lines, like quotation marks (") across the screen. not much ryme or reason to them, some are grouped together, some are darker than others.

Try updating the video driver. Borrow a dedicated video card from someone to test. Use a different monitor to make sure its not your monitor going out. Boot to safe mode and see if it still does it.
 
Well, without testing with a different monitor or video card there really isn't anything else to suggest. My bet would be on the onboard video is bad. But you need to diagnose by using other parts.
 
i wasnt far along, so i just reinstalled everything. i think it had a wrong driver as well s the correct one. works fine now. thank you
