spyware? 'Application not found' ..errors!

Can Anybody Help? I cannot open any of my applications...Int Explorer, nero, real player...etc (accessing internet via a link in microsoft outlook). It throws up a message box saying 'application not found' as though there is a missing start up file or something???

I though about reinstalling windows XP however I have loads of music files etc and how can I back up these when I cannot access a program? :eek:

Any advice would be appreciated please
 
Tried to download the link, As with anything I try to download now or open it throws up the below error in a message box!

Hmm, Interesting.. I have an idea...

Ok I think you have something messed up with your environmental variables. We can try something easy, to get stuff to work.

Create a new user, with the same rights you have now. Login to the new user, and copy all your files over to the new ID (once you know if it works or not)

Id's are easy...

Start, settings, control panels , USERS

Let me know how that works.

AAARRH...lol

Its does not work. When I try to create new user i get another error:

c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe
Application not found

exactly the same if I try system restore

Ohh wow.. i just noticed you have the other thread on saving your music...

I believe the best options to save everything would be..

Go graba a new or used HD. Might be able to grab one for 40-50$. UNplug the old hd, and plug in the new one. Load windows on the new one, and plug in the other drive as a slave.
