avast, AVG and spybot arnet picking anything up although other proffessional programs say there are some infections, but he has to pay to remove them, and there are excess processes running, and he has found his com,puter to be slow of late. is there anything obvious to delete from the log?

I believe there is malware on this computer that is hiding from HijackThis.

Please go to this file ...

C:\Documents and Settings\Umer\Desktop\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

....and rename it to newname.exe.

Run another scan and post a fresh log.

The problem with those programs tried out that indicated that there were things that needed to be removed "but"? you needed to "buy" to see them removed is a typical selling gimic! The common reason for seeing a system slowdown is due to now useless entries in the system registry itself along with a lack of occasional maintainance like defragging the hard drive once in awhile after a list of files created or removed and software changes.

Uninstallers often leave stuff behind besides now useless folders. One freeware that works good on Vista as well as back as far as 95 is RegCleaner found at http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/regcleaner.htm

Another freeware for removing now useless temp folders is CCleaner found at http://www.ccleaner.com/ One thing to note about these two programs is that Regcleaner first opens to a main window where you can choose which registry keys for programs now no longer used or uninstallers fail to see removed when removing programs.
