Squares,pixels, on screen?

I am just starting out with a new system with the items in my sig. I have also got a ASUS ve248h monitor.
Some items look fine but others you can see the sqaures ,sharp edges around the edge of the pics and some vids on you tube dont look clear either but some do. I guess this would be normal depending on how the image was created. any ideas on what to adjust settings to?

Also dont know if its ghosting or what but if I go to the painting screen and create a black arrow and move it around with the mouse you can see a bright shadow behind the black lines on the arrow.

If I cannot fix the screen I guess I will have to return it. thanks for any help

Sounds possible like a temperature issue to me.

At Newegg, ghosting was reported by one user and the RMA'd set had the same issue. Most purchasers did not see a problem. Perhaps you should google reviews to see if it's a design issue.

I changed the mode to theater and its seems a lot better. I am still adjusting the monitor. Thanks
