ssd+hdd ahci ?

hey guys and gals.

i'm new to ssd and i've recently read that i'm suppose to use AHCI (SP?) ??

i have a

Micron RealSSD C300 MTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 2.5" 128GB SATA III

its brand new all i have on there are win 7 ultimate and starcraft 2... i have another harddrive (listed below) as my storage with my music other games etc...

my question is:

in bios am i suppose to turn on AHCI? or do i need to do anything in bios for optimal settings?

It's best you turn it on next time youy reformat your drive, otherwise it will cause problems and switching back to IDE won't help.

So you've switched the controller to AHCI mode after installing Windows? If it's still booting you're ok, if not switching it back to IDE mode will let you boot again. There's a thread here (http://www.computerforum.com/181612-ssd-drive-question.html#post1520212) that can tell you how to enable AHCI without reinstalling windows 7. It does work, I have tried it myself.
