SSD price drop?

Maybe it's because I haven't looked around at them in awhile, but I just noticed some interestingly low prices on solid state drives as of lately. Crucial m4 is nearly at a dollar a gb! Is now a good time to go for ssd, or wait a little longer for more price drops?

They are getting cheaper I've noticed too. Hard drives are still high though unfortunately, that's what I'm counting on the most. I would love to get another hard drive or two but with their prices, no thank you.

I shoulda got more spinpoint f3's when they were around $80 for 1tb. Not sure how they went up in value and ssd's went down though.

they went up because of flooding in SE asia. I don't see why, as literally the day of the flood the prices skyrocketed, far ahead of the supply crunch.

And Seagate HDDs are running 99 for 1TB now, so getting back down there.

Hard disk drives are about the same price as an AMD Athlon II Quad-Core processor now. A processor is harder to create than a hard disk drive.

I don't understand how its 2 years later and prices are still pretty high though. You used to be able to buy a 500gb western digital green for $50 now they are still around $100.

And I've never really liked seagate so I'm not buying from them.

At least they aren't the same price per gb as ssd mlc drives are. It's not that bad of a price considering how much space you get to play with, even if the drive is more fragile than a ssd is.
