yeah but why is it only read 355 and write 70 surely sata 6 can read write up to 600mbps?

yeh but just because the port is capable doesnt mean the drives will use full speed!!

do you think gpu's use all 16x lanes? there only using max 8x

but there are sata II drives out that use the full speed of it ie read write and 280mbps,

sata II has been out for years, im sure if i raid0 a few drives i could push the max bandwidth - its kinda new tech and not all motherboards have many sata III ports.

give it time im sure we will see some impressive ssd's, i like the look of the pci-e drives (ocz revo)
