Ssd vs. Hdd

If we are not looking at price is the SSD better as far as performance goes to the HDD? What do you guys know about the SSD as far as pros and cons compared to HDD? Remember we are not looking at price.
 
With WD´s release of that 2TB drive, I think spinning platters will be with us for a while.


In January Corsair entered with it´s 128gig version.

90mb read 70mb write.

Then Samsung, 256gig 200mb/s read and 160mb/s write

Much better read write speeds.

Nice for operating systems , laptops, PMP´s and such ,not sure of seek times or temps .
But for large media storage , at the moment there is no other option.
The SSD in the last year has come a long way in terms of speed,I can´t wait to see what 2009 has up it´s sleeve. :)
