SSD windows 7 bootup time

I got a windows 7 PRO on a 64GB SSD, with 8GB ram, i7 CPU.
I heard SSD can make bootup really fast.

I am seeing a ~30sec bootup and 10sec shut down.
My computer is pretty clean, brand new, don't have unnecessary things that'll be loaded in bootup.

Is this considered fast?
 
I haven't noticed a difference in bootup speed. I built a machine for a customer with a 64GB SSD and Win7. It seemed the same speed as a standard HDD.
 
30 seconds is pretty slow unless you have a stock install. My system without a SSD boots 29 seconds (but mine is edited).Did you turn ACHI on in your bios before installing windows on the SSD? This seems to be the basic issue with most.
Also what SSD is it? Not all SSD are great....some SSD are even slower than HDDs. Good example is Kingston is a very poor performer where a Intel x25-m / Vertex 2 destroy it in the same price range.

Also, did you do any other ssd tweaks/adjustments besides the AHCI?
Did you move storage etc files/folders? or tempp/tmp? did you use a set up guide for the ssd you have?(a lot are similar or the same depending on the model). Also there are tweaks to speed up windows ssd or not.
Is the FW up to date?
As asked, whats the model?

sounds like some things are not set up correct for the ssd.
i think even an ssd thats not the fastest should be faster than a hhd.

Well a easy way to tweak is using this program.http://www.techspot.com/guides/246-ssd-performance-tweak-utility/ has good reviews from a lot of sites. OCZ forums always suggest it and Tomshardware also did a thing on how great it was. Basically takes all the work outta tweaking your SSD :) Works on any model of SSD and any brand.
 
It's built by Dell and I reinstalled windows7 and the driver for the SSD. Didn't do any tweaks yet.
It's a samsung 64GB minicard SSD. Pay an extra $200 to Dell to get this instead of a 7200rpm 250 GB drive!!

There is updated firmware to resolve performance issues with that ssd.

Get the model # off the ssd and see if you have the lastest FW. There should be a way to get windows to show it to you, or ask Dell. You can power off/unplug and get info from the ssd. It will probly be one of these
MB-MS8G/MB-SP8G/MB-SS8G, but make sure.
Then check Dell or Samsung for the updated FW and there should be instructions there on how to do it. Like using a flash drive. And there's a sticky here at CF to tell you how to do it. BACK UP YOU DATA FIRST.
Does it have a hdd? It may relate to a tweak prog. if the prog. moves files/folders and you dont have a hdd.
