Ssd

Ok fellas this is the 1st time I will be purchasing an SSD but not sure which one to get. I don't want to get too big of a hard drive since I have 2 other hard drives and the main reason I am getting a SSD is to run my operating system with a few games. I am thinking 256GB is perfect. I have the Giga-Byte GA-890FXA-UD5 mobo, not sure which revision though. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd go for either a Crucial M4, SanDisk Extreme, Samsung 830 or a Kingston Hyper-X. Used the M4 and the Extreme myself, love them both. The others are meant to be very good drives. :)

Others to consider.

Corsair Force Series 3 240GB (Sandforce)
OCZ Agility 3 240GB (Sandforce)

ALSO

OCZ Vertex 4 256GB (Indilinx Everest 2) 5 Year Warranty!.

I own 2x OCZ Vertex drives...both have been running flawless since i bought them quite a long time ago.

I never liked Corsair SSDs. They were always slower and less reliable than those from other makes. Corsair drives certainly had reliability problems when I was looking for SSDs, hence why I got an M4. In most cases, the M4 is faster than a Force 3 and some the other drives mentioned here (Vertex 4, SanDisk Extreme and probably the Hyper-X drives) are faster than the M4 http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/400?vs=425

If the case isn't made for it, you can get an adapter w/screws. Might be able to just screw it to the bottom in the 3.5" bay or some other location. Or just use something like velcrow.
